Fleas are annoying and dangerous parasites. Sized ticks between small to very small, and belonged to the arthropods, which have a kinship with spiders. Dog with flea infestation will feel itchy and irritated skin. If ticks are pretty much attacked dog, it could be lethargic.
You need notice that the dog can not get rid of fleas from the body simply just by scratching, since fleas are usually perched on body areas that are difficult to reach, such as on the face, ear, folds of skin around the elbows, neck, abdomen and in between the toes. In addition, removal of ticks should be done extra carefully, do not let the head and parts of fleas still stuck under the dog's skin, because it will cause a big lump, swelling, and even potentially cause infection.
So, you need to make the detection and removal of fleas carefully. Doing checks every day, especially in the spring when peaked growth fleas, and make sure you use latex gloves. You can also use the meeting toothed comb.
When the dog standing next to you, touch the base of it's tail and move your hands in a quickly massaging motion towards the back of the head.
Make sure your finger touches the surface of the dog's skin gentlely. Observe if found unusual lumps on the surface of the skin.
When you find a lump, immediately check to get rid of the hairs around the area, and look for the cause, whether because of a bug or other skin diseases.
If you find fleas on the dog's skin surface, immediately remove using tweezer pointy toes. Slowly unplug fleas with tweezers, and pull away from the skin surface of dogs carefully, then wash the area with a flea infestation with mild soap, or rubbing alcohol to prevent infection. Spray hydrocortisone or liquid antibiotics to reduce irritation. Wash and clean your hand.
To prevent further fleas infestation attacks, make sure your dog is always in a good health. You should know that fleas would prefer to attack dogs which has low immune systems. So, always check the condition of your dog's health regularly. Also, give salmon oil and probiotics that increasing body immunity of your pet dogs.
